Great movei
A typical skydive lasts five to six minutes, with approximately 50 seconds of that spent in freefall and four to five minutes on the parachute ride down. So you have about 1 minute to free fall and film everything and get it right, pilus these days with hi quality cameras which the team would use, its all about timing and positioning thats all? 🦘🦘✌✌👍👍
why not have a wing suit for the jump that would have been better and landing on a massive boxes on the ground, but made to look like a roof top of a home on the ground, maybe thats what tom needs to do next which would be epic, its been done before from the helicopter at i believe 2,400ft and then using the Wing suit for the longest time free falling with the suit and not using a parachute to stop your fall? 🦘🦘✌✌👍👍
The fact that Tom cruise is 60 year old and he is doing this kind of stunts is simply amazing
See how nervous the director was when Tom did the jump.

Stuff like this is why there should be an oscar for stunt men and women. The dedication they put into their craft is amazing.
There weren't any stunt men or women. There was just Tom Cruise.
Pretty unfair to all the stunt men of the world as Tom Cruise would win by default every time he has a new action movie out.
@ThorsteinKlingenberg - Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh could both give Tom Cruise a run for his money in the action movie stunts department.

Yea, most actors would hesitate saying "so is there a reason the character is doing this? Shouldn't I be aware of any reason at all a secret agent would do something like this?"

He's the official GOAT action movie that puts every other to shame, except Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, who still come in behind him, in my opinion, but still did most of their crazy stunts, with the injuries. I hope Baldwin is never around him in any indie movies with him in charge.
Dude is a bonafide, real life action hero, seriously, and a much better actor than any in the same genre. The dude is an enigma by nature as far he stays committed to do whatever it takes for his audience, yet still seems very humble and appreciative of those he works with and his fans. Being close to his age and push myself hard to stay healthy, he even amazes me that he still does these incredible things, incredible confidence, but still stay in safety mode, despite what he said. That's a thing most career heavy duty construction worker will say comes first and foremost and I hope he was kidding on that comment.
Id say the greatest action stars who do their own stunts would be Buster Keaton, Jackie Chan and Tom Cruise

Even stunt men don't have this guy's guts. He is insane and that's why I love his movies and this franchise
@@kazerozer Jackie Chan isn't an arrogant douchebag though :P
The thing about actors doing stunts is, actors are a huge financial asset during filming. If they get injured the filming has to halt until he can act again. If the actor dies during such a stunt, you could imagine that the entire money that has been put in the movie before was down the sink. Allthough they' would probably try to finish the movie via deepfake or something lol
The absolute dedication to filmmaking is really inspiring. Imagine if everyone was as dedicated to their craft as Tom is. Brilliant.

@@spidergoblin. Why do with CGI what you can do for real and make real?
@@mratlas3364 Because the risk of death or injury isn’t worth it? I admire Toms dedication to his craft but not everyone cares enough about their job to do death defying stunts and that’s OK. As long there are individuals like Tom to set the bar then we have the inspiration but that doesn’t mean we have to be as dedicated as him, to do all of this with no permanent damage is nothing short of a miracle and there would definitely be a lot of deaths or injury if everyone wanted to be Tom Cruise.

@@Arch8112 no hate, he's impressive, but it helps that he has no family to spend time with, and don't need to have a regular job and other duties. A lot of actors won't do even 2nd take for a scene, giving reason that they have poured all in the first take and don't have anything left for 2nd take. There's a strong indication he will go to space to film but it's not for the Mission Impossible series. It's for another movie with Doug Liman.
Probably for the edge of tomorrow sequel, if they ever make it
thanks guys. was not sure if I read about MI8 actually
If we are just making shit up then I've read that for the next movie he is flying without oxygen to Saturn where he will ride a unicycle around the rings and then skydive to the Moon!

He sets the bench mark and I believe it will be unbreakable. This man deserve respect for his dedication and art of work.
Man this guy is a beast !! I've never actually thought about the immense hard work, resources and sacrifices it takes for a scene like this to be made. We just appreciate the scene in a movie and forget about it later but now that I've seen this, I'm starting to respect all of those bts as well as the actors or stuntmen/women more & more. I can't even comprehend the amount of will, courage & practice it took for Tom Cruise to do this, man he's a legend for sure even if he doesn't get Oscars.

Just watched the movie over the weekend. Other than the stunts on top of the train, all the other stunts seems super realistic and exciting. Such an amazing movie. Tom Cruise is a legendary actor.
The fact that Tom Cruise is over 60 years old and old enough to be a grandfather and doing these kind of crazy stunts with such commitment to his craft is truly amazing.
He's already 10 years into being old enough to be a grandfather.
He will be grandfather in 9 months if his daughter Isabelle gets pregnant and give birth to a baby in next 9 months. Isabelle is already 30 yrs old at this stage many women's are already mother take shophie turner she become mother at 24 and Emma roberts become mother 2 yrs ago at age of 30. So people in industry become mother at around 30 she can also be so would tin cruise be grandfather.
This is why a movie makes history. Big time and incredible talent and risk packed in something so important because it will be watched forever.
@@Patriotic_Eagle1995 don't be stupid
@@Patriotic_Eagle1995 Could've been way less money on CGI I agree, but doing it the hard way, it's makes the movie a unique artwork. Kind of like the effort put into stop-motion animation to make something unique, another form of art. But anyway I'd also take CGI.
Wasn't sly that said "when you blow up real gasoline it looks good forever"
Then why is avatar and lion king higher on box office?
@@Aspecofexperience You don't need cgi, you just need stunt doubles who can already do these things
The more you watch it the better it looks... incredible that he didn't just do it once, he perfected it at its hardest difficulty to get the most amount of takes for the editor/directors to use. MUST SEE in theatres!

Take a minute and consider the incredible number of breathtaking stunts this man has completed, and the vast amount of skill that is required to perform each safely. Adding to that, arguably one of the best actors AND directors ever to walk the earth. Absolute legend
We live in a day and age where everything costs so much, and most of us have very little free time. It's like Tom Cruise is one of the few people in Hollywood who understands this and is like, "Hey, if you're choosing to spend your hard-earned money and your precious free time on my product, then I owe it to you to give you the absolute best product I possibly can!" Wish more people felt that way.
1- We are living in abundance unprecedented in human history, thanks to technology. A loaf of bread costs you much cheaper than it used to cost your grandparents. 2- If you can come on RUclips and write comments on a movie’s stunt work video, you’re not as busy as you think.
@@jeffmorrison2915 What are u talking about? Dunno where you from, but in my country and the mayority of the countries in my continent people struggles to earn enough money just to eat. 2 or 3 people in every home working 12 hours a day just to get to eat something, they will never own a land or a house, they will never travel around the world, most of this people cant even afford a 2 weeks local holidays once a year.
But our fathers and grandfathers where able to buy a house, a car, feed and raise 5 o 6 kids with just one basic salary. But now 3 people working all day cant even buy food. What weird choices? If you are referring to his dedication as a Scientologist, how do you know that hasn’t been a factor in his attitude towards life?
who cares about the scientology stuff? tom never even mentions it in any interviews and these videos and his films are exceptional. why does every comment complimenting tom always diss/mention the scientology thing
Tom Cruise is a narcissist. He has a constant need to show off in his action films. You don't need to be a psychologist to know that.
It all about validation because deep down he's insecure. Look at me, I'm doing a sky dive, I'm hanging from a plane. All designed to get validation. You'll notice he's no longer a dramatic actor doing roles like Jerry Maguire. It's all this wannabe James Bond stuff.
